TVCC Theatre Recognized at Regional Kennedy Center Theatre Festival

The cast of The Book Club Play  has been invited to perform a scene at KCATCF.

The Trinity Valley Community College (TVCC) Theatre Department is making a strong impression at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) Region 6, currently taking place in Abilene, Texas. This prestigious festival brings together top theatre programs from community colleges and universities across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and New Mexico.

Several TVCC students and faculty members are competing and showcasing their talents at the festival.

Pluto Wilson, Riley O’Donnell, and Scott Peebles have been selected as Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship nominees, competing against talented students from across the region. Pluto and Riley are performing as scene partners, while Scott is partnered with Jessie Wilson in the preliminary rounds of the competition.

The cast of “The Book Club Play” has been invited to perform a scene from the production in the Evening of Invited Scenes, a prestigious showcase of outstanding work from participating colleges and universities.

Pluto Wilson will also present their hair and makeup design for “The Book Club Play” at the Design/Technology/Management Expo later this week.

Craig Lee, TVCC’s Director of Theatre and Head of Performance Studies, is leading a workshop titled “Punctuate Your Acting,” offering insights and techniques to young actors.

Adding to the department’s leadership presence, TVCC faculty member Elizabeth “Biz” Nelson is concluding her tenure as KCACTF Region 6 Co-Chair and will serve as Immediate Past Co-Chair in the coming year.

TVCC Theatre continues to showcase excellence in performance, design, and education, both at TVCC and at the KCACTF Festival.
