Trinity Valley Community College (TVCC) is excited to announce the transformation and expansion of the Student Advocacy Center into the Cardinal Resource HQ, a rebranded support hub located in the Student Union Building on the TVCC – Athens Campus. This revamped space will focus on providing holistic assistance to help students succeed both on and off campus.
As part of its mission to address student needs, the Cardinal Resource HQ will spotlight its food pantry, a vital resource for TVCC students facing food insecurity. The pantry, along with additional services, is central to the HQ’s trauma-informed approach, which aims to support students in all aspects of their lives, from housing and food assistance to wellness resources.
To help kickstart this initiative, the Student Advocacy Services Department hosted a non-perishable food and supply drive called the "Share the Necessities" Drive during the annual Faculty and Staff Holiday Luncheon on Friday, Dec. 6. Donations of items such as canned goods, toiletries, first aid supplies, and cleaning products were donated and will directly benefit the Cardinal Resource HQ.
The Student Advocacy Services Department plans to celebrate the launch of the Cardinal Resource HQ at its Open House on Thursday, January 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. All TVCC students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend this come-and-go event that will feature giveaways, refreshments, and an opportunity to explore the new space and its resources.
The Cardinal Resource HQ represents a community effort to ensure no student feels unsupported, Associate Vice President of Student Advocacy Services Melinda Berry shared. By flocking together, the TVCC family can build a brighter future for all Cardinals.
