Trinity Valley Community College Science Division is hosting a community-wide event to give TVCC students, staff, faculty and community members the opportunity to learn more about Earth Day on Monday, April 22.
Earth Day in the Valley will be hosted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the TVCC – Athens Campus in the Plaza. Attendees will get the opportunity to meet local organizations and learn their roles in sustainability and how you can help.
Organizations that will be present for Earth Day in The Valley include:
- Henderson County TX Beekeepers Association
- Texas Master Naturalists
- Texas Commission on Environmental Quality
- USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service
- Trinity-Neches Soil and Water Conservation District
- Keep Athens Beautiful
- East Texas Arboretum
- Trinity Valley Electric Cooperative
- Republic Waste Management
- Milk & Honey Meadows
- TVCC Science Division
Plus, the Creature Teacher will be bringing live animals for people to learn about, hold and pet!
Attendees can enjoy delicious treats from Taco Perez, Casey’s BBQ, Gelu Italian Ice and Tod & Copper Coffee and Beverages. The first 300 attendees will receive TVCC environmentally friendly swag bags. This is a free community-wide event for attendees. Food and drinks from food trucks must be paid for by the individual attendees.
