TVCC SGA wins Chapter of the Year

The Trinity Valley Community College Student Government Association (SGA) dominated the regional conference competitions, securing a clean sweep and advancing to the state competition at the Texas Junior College Student Government Association convention in Galveston this April.
TVCC – SGA was awarded:
Student of the Year: Gauge Carmon, TVCC – Athens Chapter
Advisor of the Year: Courtney Skiles, TVCC – Athens Chapter
Chapter of the Year: TVCC – Athens Chapter
“This is also the first regional conference in TVCC history where our Athens, Terrell, and Palestine Chapters attended,” said Courtney Skiles, Director of Recruitment and Admissions and SGA – Athens Chapter Advisor. “In total, we had four advisors and 30 students attending. We also faced tough competition, as our Terrell Chapter submitted for both Chapter of the Year and Student of the Year.”
This marks the eighth consecutive year that the SGA – Athens Chapter has won Chapter of the Year at the regional level and the tenth win in the past decade.
