TVCC President Dr. Jason Morrison Takes Center Stage for Community Fundraiser
Trinity Valley Community College President Dr. Jason Morrison is no stranger to leadership, education, or community service—but now, he's stepping into an entirely new spotlight: the dance floor.
Dr. Morrison will be one of several local celebrities participating in “Dancing with the Stars: East Texas Edition,” a charity event benefiting Stage Notes Academy of Performing Arts (SNAPA). Modeled after the popular television show, the event will feature choreographed performances ranging from Broadway favorites to Michael Jackson-inspired routines.
The event will take place on June 21, 2025 at Stage Notes Academy of Performing Arts in Athens, TX and will feature a dinner and live performances. Each celebrity will be paired with a semi-professional dancer and perform a 90-second routine. Winners will be selected based on a combination of judges' scores and audience fundraising, with three awards up for grabs: the Mirror Ball Trophy, the People’s Choice Award, and the Spirit Award.
“I’ve always believed in stepping outside of my comfort zone—and this is definitely a new challenge,” said Dr. Morrison. “But more importantly, Dancing with the Stars: ETX is about supporting the arts and giving back to the community that has given so much to TVCC. I’m honored to represent the Home of Champions in a completely new way—on the dance floor.”
With Dr. Morrison trading in his presidential shoes for dancing shoes, TVCC once again demonstrates that its commitment to the community extends far beyond the classroom.
This star-studded evening promises to dazzle and entertain, while also raising vital funds for local theater students. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite performances, and all proceeds from the event will directly support arts education through SNAPA.
