Chambless is ready to educate future healthcare workers
Welcome to Team TVCC: Dr. Valarie Chambless, DNP, APRN, FNP-C
Chambless in joining Trinity Valley Community College as a Faculty in the associate degree Nursing Program.
Chambless is excited to assist in the growing number of nurses.
“I am excited to be a part of bringing future nurses into healthcare.” Chambless said.
In the classroom, Chambless hopes to make a positive impact on all her students.
“I always enjoyed being a student in a learning environment and can remember the instructors that made an impact on my journey” Chambless said.
Chambless said after finishing her Doctorate she knew the perfect place to start teaching was at Trinity Valley.
“I have lived in this area most of my life and TVCC has a great reputation for their nursing program,” Chambless said. “After completing my Doctor of Nursing, I decided to pursue teaching and couldn’t think of a better place to apply. I love the small town feel when interacting with others who work and attend here, along with the high-quality education and accommodations provided to students.”
Chambless brings experience as a registered nurse, emergency department nurse, family nurse practitioner and more.
“I have been a Registered Nurse since 2009 and graduated from Tyler Junior College,” Chambless said. “When I first began, I worked in med/surg and did a year in home health until I settled in the emergency department. In 2018, I graduated from UT Arlington as a Family Nurse Practitioner and have worked in family practice and urgent care settings. I completed my Doctor of Nursing from UT Arlington in 2022.”
In her free time, Chambless enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. Chambless has a goal to travel to Italy one day.
During her time at TVCC, she hopes to grow as an educator and further her teaching experience.
“With being new to teaching, I hope to be able to take in all of the advice from the other faculty and apply it to what the students need to thrive in the nursing program,” Chambless said.
